A contact lens exam is a specialized vision evaluation that goes beyond a standard eye exam to determine the best contact lenses for your unique eyes. While a regular eye exam assesses your overall eye health and provides a glasses prescription, a contact lens exam includes additional tests to evaluate how lenses will interact with your eye’s surface.
During your contact lens fitting, our eye doctor measures your corneal curvature, evaluates your tear film, and assesses factors like pupil size and lid position. Because contact lenses are considered a medical device, a separate contact lens prescription is required and cannot be derived from your glasses prescription alone.
